Also, did I mention that we're studying in the Business school here at UCD? It's gorgeous so just thought I'd show you where we go to class everyday, especially because it's been so pretty the past few days and the light looks so nice coming down.
So as I previously...perhaps not so specifically said, we'll be working for the government. The branch that we're working with is:
The health branch. They are currently rolling out a program to provide the Gardasil vaccine - or the HPV shot that prevents cervical cancer - to girls 12-13. The program is quite controversial in a community that is roughly 90% Roman Catholic, and the goal is to get more awareness so that parental consent for the shot will be given at a rate of 80%. They have already begun the first series of the campaign which began before the summer holidays and will begin again in the fall so that the girls will be in school and accessible for the necessary three rounds of shots. We were given some background information today and we were all really excited to get started! This is the building...looks pretty official huh?
